The government of Gujarat has recently taken an important step towards gender equality by organising a "Women Empowerment Fortnight". As a part of this initiative, WLS facilitated a visit of 50 students each from LD Engineering College, Vishwakarma Engineering College and Government Engineering College (Gandhinagar and Modasa) on 7th August. The event involved a talk by IIM-A PGP-2 volunteers about "Careers in Management" where the visitors were informed about the job profiles one can expect after doing an MBA. Post this, they were taken on a tour of the campus by volunteers who showed them around the classrooms, Harvard steps, library, LKP, IMDC and CIIE. It was a highly enjoyable 2 hours long session, and left the visiting students with a clearer idea about whether they should pursue MBA or not. The famous red bricks also cultivated a sense of awe and inspiration among them, and hopefully we'll see some of them joining our prestigious institute in the coming years.
A big thanks to all our volunteers for taking the time out on a busy Friday afternoon!
